MOOCs and Open Education book in Chinese!
I was informed that the book that my colleagues (Mimi Lee, Tom Reeves, and Tom Reynolds) and I edited and was published by Routledge back in 2015, has been translated by a team at South China Normal University (SCNU) led by my friends, Dr. Jianli (Johnnie) Jiao and Yibo (Jeremy) Fan. After more than two years of waiting and various delays, it was published two weeks ago in simplified Chinese by East China Normal University (ECNU) in Shanghai, China; the top education publisher in China. This is the same translation team and publisher who translated and published my book, "The World is Open" in China. With that support, it became my top selling book of all time. Exciting news indeed to have another with this team. This is my third book to be made available in Chinese.
I hope that this translation can play a small role in advancing MOOCs and open education in China, thereby impacting people in the largest country in the world. I also hope that the 60+ contributors to the book receive some unexpected emails from those who are positively impacted. Time will tell.
While I await my copies to arrive, here is some book ordering information if you want a copy in English or in Chinese.

The first picture below is from a kick-off event of the translation team three years ago. Yes, 3 years!
As per the pictures above and below, Dr. Jiao blogged on the new book. His blog posting helped turn my World is Open book into a bestseller in for East China Normal University. I am so delighted by his support. Suffice to say, his blog is widely read in China. And he and Jeremy will have a chapter in our next book, MOOCs and Open Education in Emerging Economies: Challenges, Successes, Opportunities, that will also be published by Routledge. Draft chapters are just now starting to come in.
Blog post about the translation (not perfect): "New "Mu class and global openeducation" shelves"
Pictures of the different websites where it can be found are below. Exciting indeed!
