Go IU! Go Big Red! There are momentous days and then there are momentous days.
The
new Bicentennial Grand Carillon behind the main library with ring with 65 bells
at 11:45 am. Many other singing and dancing events on campus follow that.
The
first classes at Indiana University (IU) did not start till 1825 since it took a while to agree on a
location/city. Fortunately, they selected Bloomington. We were intended to be a seminary.
200
years! I arrived when it was just 172 years old. It is now 200. I have been
here for 14% of it. See below for the new Bicentennial Grand Carillon and the
old Big Red II.

I arrived in late August 1992 from West Virginia University (WVU). I have spent much of my life here (nearly 28 years). I have seen a lot...mostly good things. Long live IU!
